Our monthly meeting on the 23rd March is all about how Yateley is going to celebrate Civic Day this year. The Society is working with Yateley Town Council in arranging civic events to celebrate not only Civic Day but the 50th anniversary of the Civic Amenities Act (1967)
The plan is to start with a ‘Party on the Green’ on Saturday the 3rd June finishing with another day out on Civic Day, Saturday the 17th June. Details are still being planned but the theme this year is ‘Conservation Areas’ which were made possible by the Civic Amenities Act. A number of activities are being considered including hosted walks around the Conservation Areas, photographic competition and essay competition aimed at those still at school.
You may have your own ideas as to what should be done, so come along to our meeting and have your say. The meeting will be as usual in the Red Cross Hall, Monteagle Lane start time 19.45 on the 23rd March.
